India is a country where everyday there is a seprate festival going on in some part of it. This is a very intresting feature of this holy country. A vast number of population is hindu though people from every several other religions co-exist in this environment. These general Indian festivals are of low importance but are celebrated with the same enthusiasm and vigour as are the other festivals of India.

These general festivals have over the year came into India through western society. Citizens of India have been under the influence of these societies for a long period of time and over the year learned to celebrateand the reasons for the celebrations of these festivals. These general festival have also came into India not only from the west but also from the neigbouring Indian countries as China.

These festivals did not hinder with the other festivals that are celebrated in India and have only added to the festivals that have been celebrated here for past several years. Festivals like Valentine's day have made Indians enjoy there romantic side while festivals like Buddha Purnima have encouraged India to be more bent towards the spiritual side.

Mother's Day and Father's Day are one of the few festivals that have helped the younger generations to get closer to their elderly and apart from respect also show these elderly our love and care towards them.
